Noida, Jun 14 (IANS): In the last three days, Gautam Buddha Nagar has seen 200 fresh cases of Covid-19, making the situation turn dire for the Uttar Pradesh district that adjoins the national capital.
As much as 70 patients tested corona positive on Sunday, while the district saw 35 positive cases on Saturday and 95 on Friday.
This sudden spurt of positive cases have taken the district's total tally to over 1,000, out of which 413 are still active cases, the administration said on Sunday. However, 16 were discharged on Sunday, taking the total of those cured so far to 510.
The district has seen 12 deaths and 69 cases which were cross-notified to other districts of Uttar Pradesh and other states like West Bengal and Haryana.
Out of the 70 patients that tested positive on Sunday, 17 were contacts.
Meanwhile, health camps were organised in 12 different sensitive places including Mamura, Nithari, Sarfabad and Harola villages.
