Lockdown has proved ignorance is arrogance: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, Jun 15 (IANS): Ahead of Prime Minister's meeting with chief ministers, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi criticised the four lockdowns enforced to contain the spread of coronavirus, saying that the wrong curve has been flattened. Rahul Gandhi shared a chart to prove his claim.

Quoting Albert Einstein, Rahul said, this lock down proves that, "The only thing more dangerous than ignorance is arrogance."

The Congress leader had earlier interaction with industrialist Rajiv Bajaj who had said that India has flattened the "wrong curve", pointing to the decline in GDP.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to hold a video conference with chief ministers of various states and Union Territories on June 16 and June 17 about the future of lockdown and the current situation of the pandemic.

There have been at least five such interactions so far with the fifth one taking place on May 11. It was in this virtual interaction where West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was in a fiery mood. That interaction took place ahead of the expiry of lockdown 3.0 which was to end on May 17.

India on Monday witnessed a spike of over 11,000 cases second day in a row with 325 fatalities taking the total tally of Covid-19 cases to 3,32,424, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare data revealed.

Already, central teams are being deputed to provide technical support and handhold the state Health Departments and municipal health officials in reviewing steps being taken to tackle Covid-19 in six key metros -- Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi and Bengaluru.

In January itself, WHO clearly said the coronavirus spreads from one person to another. It had asked all the countries to refrain from organising large gatherings. Despite such warning, ‘Namaste Trump’ was planned for political gains and permission was also granted by the Gujarat government.
On February 24, US President Donald Trump along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi took part in road show in Ahmedabad which was attended by thousands of people.

People were asked to stand shoulder to shoulder on the road to greet the leaders. Lakhs of people were brought to the stadium in buses. This triggered spread of the virus. This event was not a mistake, but a criminal negligence. The ‘Namaste Trump’ event was responsible for community transmission of the virus.

Actually Raul has peaked now, post lockdown and now speaking to businessmen and economists etc. But when UPA 1 & 2 were in power for 10 long years, he ran away from responsibility to far away lands. He even lost his forefathers tame burrough of Amethi which the CONgress has been winning from Great grand father Jawaharlal Nehru, Grand Mother Indira Gandhi, Father Rajiv Gandhi and mother Sonia Maino alias Gandhi.
But today with the .58 percent fan following and a new hairdo, he has peaked looks like and questioning everybody and anybody!

Come on RaGa. . Even if it what did , coming from your mouth will make it look absurd and a joke. High time you step down from the top seat of Cong and give the mantle to a Non Gandhi. Its no brainer that you have lost all your credibility . Your tweets are just a sign of desperation to stay relevant. Except for some Physophants your support base is dwindling further. The states where you support are on tenterhooks and may crumble anytime. Besides some internet warriors who may find your statements amusing and are compelled by religion to use it as a pretext to abuse the current Govt it wont serve any purpose. The ground reality is different , your vote bank is dented

The Commander in Chief of LOCKDOWN 1 to 4 onwards took full credit for the decisions. When he found the curve peaking towards the sky post lockdown 4 he abdicated his responsibility of leading from the front and ran to second-line pushing the CMs to decide.
