Srinagar, Jun 16 (IANS): Days after the killing of Sarpanch Ajay Pandita in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district by terrorists, a video has surfaced of a woman Sarpanch being threatened by terrorists.
The video said to be of 50-year-old Gulshan, a Sarpanch from North Kashmir's Sopore town, shot in an open field.
In the video, a male voice is questioning her while she is seeking forgiveness with folded hands and saying that she will resign. The terrorist inquires her about a number on her phone, to which she says, it is the number of Superintendent of Police (SP).
The person holding her tells her that it is the last warning, and that she is of the age of his mother, that's why he is releasing her.
The two incidents of targeting of the Panchayat members in less than a week show the vulnerability of the grassroots political workers in Kashmir.
The Panchayat members have reiterated the demands for a security and insurance cover.
