Mangalore: Amma of Amritanandamayi Mutt to Bless Devotees in City on Feb 13, 14

Mangalore, Feb 10: Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, popularly known as Amma, will be in the city for two days to bless her devotees and also to participate in meditation programmes along with satsang, bhajan programmes and puja rituals at the spacious venue, at Brahmasthanam temple in Boloor on Sultan Battery Road on February 13 and 14.
Speaking at a press meet on Wednesday February 10, Dr Sanath Hegde, president of Mata Amritanandamayi Seva Samithi, said that Amma will bless the devotees at programme. The programme, Amrita Sangama-2010 will be held in presence of Chief Minister B S B S Yeddyurappa on Febrauary 13 wherein Dr Subroto Chatterjee, director of Johns Hopkins Medical University, Maryland, USA will be the guest of honour, he said.
Amrita Sangama -2010 as part of Brahmastana Mahostava at the Brahmastana temple here will be followed by several rituals such as samoohika Shanipuja, Rahupuja, Lalithasahasranama samoohika archana and Udayastamana puja, informed Dr Hegde.
In the two-day programme, Amma will hold meditation programme, satsang, bhajans beginning from 5.30 am apart from darshan that is scheduled at 9.30 am in the morning and 6.00 pm in the evening’ he added.
The token holders will have the privilege of being blessed by a hug from Amma, he can get Darshana of Amma, he said and added that the general darshan is open to all without of discrimination of caste creed, religion, country or race.
The precautionary arrangements will be in place with regard to maintaining health, hygiene, orderliness and peace by recruiting volunteers of the ashram.
Members of reception committee and Brahmastanam Mahostava Samithi Dr Jeevaraja Sorake, Ajith Kumar Rai Malady, Ganesh Hosabettu, Kishore Shetty and Madhav Suvarna were present.
