1,807 Covid-19 cases in Jharkhand, recovery rate 55.77%


Ranchi, Jun 16 (IANS): Trebling in 15 days, the number of coronavirus cases has reached 1,807 in Jharkhand. It was around 600 till June 1. With 1,047 patients cured, the recovery rate has increased to 55.77 per cent. Nine people have succumbed to coronavirus in the state.

Of the 1,807 cases, migrant workers returning from various coronavirus hotspots in the country, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi and Tamil Nadu, accounted for 1,479 cases.

On Monday 95 more people were also discharged from dedicated Covid-19 facilities. Of this, 32 were discharged in Simdega, 19 in Ramgarh, 13 in Gumla, 12 in Palamu, 11 in Pakur, 3 in Khunti, 2 each in Lohardaga and Chatra, and one in Giridih.

Jharkhand reported its first coronavirus case on March 31 as a Malaysian woman tested Covid-19 positive.

Jharkhand has collected 1,09,740 samples and tested 1,08,576 of them.

As per the health department data, the number of asymptomatic travellers under surveillance was 5,550. So far, 4,276 have completed 28-day compulsory observation.

There are 45,322 people at quarantine facilities and 2,97,018 in home quarantine in the state.
