Bravery of Indian soldiers reflects their commitment: Shah

New Delhi, Jun 17 (IANS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday expressed grief over the killing of 20 Indian soldiers in the India-China stand-off in Ladakh's Galwan Valley, saying "their bravery reflects India's commitment towards her land".

"The pain of losing our brave soldiers while protecting our motherland at Ladakh's Galwan cannot be put in words. Nation salutes our immortal heroes who sacrificed their lives to keep Indian territory safe and secure. Their bravery reflects India's commitment towards her land," Amit Shah tweeted.

"I bow to the families, who have blessed Indian Army with such great heroes. India will always remain indebted for their supreme sacrifice. Entire nation and the Modi government stand firmly with their families in this hour of grief. Praying for the speedy recovery of those injured," Shah further said.

Around 120 Indian soldiers, almost an entire company, was trapped and encircled by the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) and followed by savage and deceptive attacks, many to a point of mutilation, on Monday night at the patrolling point number 14 on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.

The Indian Army on Tuesday said 20 of its men, including officers, were killed in an unprecedented violent clash with PLA troopers in the Galwan Valley on Monday night. The force also said the death toll would increase, as many soldiers were grievously injured.

In a statement, the Indian Army stated that 17 Indian troops who were critically injured in the line of duty at the stand-off location and exposed to sub-zero temperatures in the high altitude terrain have succumbed to their injuries, taking the total that were killed in action to 20.

It is time to focus on the failure of Modi/Shah and BJP. The Chinese fight dirty. Chinese soldiers beat Indian troops with metal batons wrapped in barbed wire and clubs embedded with nails in a border clash on Monday evening, senior Indian officials said. "They hit our boys on the head with metal batons wrapped in barbed wire. Our boys fought with bare hands," a senior Indian military official told the BBC.
Why were Indian soldiers unprepared for China's sordid, underhanded fighting methods?

Don't comment blindly sitting from San Francisco/USA "Bhavya/Udupi Madam". Do you remember "Wing Commander Darryl Castelino from Kinnigoli settled in Vakola-Mumbai", who died during rescue mission in flood-hit Uttarakhand. He never seen any religion while rescuing stranded pilgrims in Kedarnath Temple. If you get time in USA, just browse about his bravery.

Mr. Shah we are sure about our Army's bravery and we also know their commitment . But your statement "their bravery reflects India's commitment towards her land". is not digestible for the fact that they were killed only because of Indian governments stupid decisions.

These were definitely avoidable deaths. Leaders play politics and poor people lose their lives. Many have lost their fathers, sons, brothers and husbands for no fault of theirs.

What is the Modi government doing? Only talking made in India, but only importing Chinese products. Our PM and Chinese president Xi Jinping have met 18 times. PM visited China five times most by any PM in 70 years. But no peace between both countries. Why do we need Chinese products? What happened to skill India? Instead kill India.

Brave soldiers have sacrificed their lives. May their soul rest in peace.

He looks utterly terrified by Chinese action. Don't steal money from defence budget, don't provide them cheap quality food and substandard out fits. Arm them with sufficient weaponry. Chinese are not friends whatever protocol and agreement we have with them. The fact they are illegally intruding is enough to have a proper backup plan and a swift action. This is not mob lynching on innocents citizens.
