Soldier hurt in Pakistan firing in Jammu district


Jammu, Jun 18 (IANS): A soldier was injured in the ceasefire violation by Pakistan on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Akhnoor sector of the Jammu district on Thursday.

"Rifleman Jeevan of the J&K Light Infantry regiment was injured in the shelling. He has been shifted to hospital where doctors described his condition as stable," said the army sources.

Pakistan violated ceasefire on the LoC at Macchil in Kupwara, Sunderbani in Rajouri and Akhnoor in the Jammu district.

Since the beginning of Sino-Indian tensions in eastern Ladakh, Pakistan has been violating bilateral ceasefire on a daily basis.
