Why were soldiers sent to the borders 'unequipped': Congress

Jaipur, Jun 18 (IANS): Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal and media in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala on Thursday shot off a barrage of questions aimed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh asking them why Indian soldiers were allegedly sent unequipped to the borders where the enemy was camping.

"Who gave this order to our military officers and soldiers?" the duo asked and further raised a question that "when our military officers and soldiers were being sent without arms, why was the armed backup force not available to protect them in accordance with Army protocol? If there was a backup force, why was it not sent?"

"Why did the government not have advance insight and information about the hostile plans of China and their conspiracy to attack our soldiers?" they said.

"Is the huge mistake of not understanding the intention of China not a symbol of the gross failure of the central government and their leadership?" the Congress leaders asked.

"At a time when the entire nation stands united in giving rich tributes to the martyred soldiers, our people are equally resented and anguished the way our soldiers were ‘batoned' and stoned," they said.

"India's 130 crore people have one question disturbing them: Why were the soldiers sent unequipped to the border and who was the person who forced them to go unequipped?" they said.

For the shopkeepers of the Choksi-state, certain other people are expendable.

They could be the poor migrant labourers.
They could be the poor frontline soldiers.

With the shopkeepers of the Choksi-state, it is a very old story. Nothing new.

But the supporters are not opening their eyes.

They should have carried weapons with them for at least self defense. Chinese soldiers taken advantage of it knowing our soldiers are unarmed. India is missing strong leader this time who can lead from the front like Indira Gandhi, Vajpaye.

BJP has failed in every wing of the govt and its incompetence is visible in defence, foriegn policy, finance, judiciary, police, security etc. Most flopiest govt since 2014 after Independance of India. The earlier BJP govt was little bit better than the present. This govt can not be a transparent and not a nation building govt better to remove it before even little bit that is remaining is lost.
