No Indian territory occupied by anyone: PM tells all-party meet

New Delhi, Jun 19 (IANS): After the military clash in eastern Ladakh's Galwan valley with Chinese troops in which 20 Indian soldiers were martyred, Prime Minister Narendra Modi categorically stated in the all-party meeting on Friday that no Indian post or territory has been occupied by anyone.

"At the outset, the Prime Minister clarified that neither is anyone inside our territory nor are any of our posts captured. He said that 20 of our brave soldiers made the supreme sacrifice for the nation in Ladakh but also taught a lesson to those who had dared to look towards our motherland. The nation will forever remember their valour and sacrifice," government sources said.

In the virtual meeting attended by 20 political parties, the Prime Minister said that our forces are doing whatever is necessary to protect the country. The sources said Modi assured "we are capable and nobody can take even an inch of our land."

Modi said that our army is capable to move in any sector simultaneously. He underscored that today all of us stand united with the soldiers defending our borders and repose full faith in their courage and bravery.

The Prime Minister said that the country today has such capability that no one can even dare look towards an inch of our land. He said that today, Indian forces are capable of moving together across sectors. While on the one hand, the Army has been given a free hand to take necessary steps, India has also conveyed its position clearly to China through diplomatic means.

He added that through the all-party meeting, he wants to assure the families of the martyrs that the entire country stands with them.

Modi assured the leaders that "the armed forces are leaving no stone unturned to protect the country. Be it deployment, action or counter action, through land, sea or air, our forces are taking the necessary steps to protect the country."

"Provision has also been made for fighter planes, modern helicopters, missile defence systems and other such needs of our forces. Through the recently developed infrastructure, patrolling capacity at LAC has also increased," he said, adding that through this, we are better informed about the developments at LAC and consequently are able to monitor and respond better. The movements of the adversary which used to take place without any disruption earlier are now checked by our jawans, which at times leads to build up of tension.

He noted that through better infrastructure, supply of material and essentials to the jawans in the difficult terrain has become comparatively easier.

The Prime Minister emphasised the commitment of the government to welfare of the nation and its citizens and said that be it in trade, connectivity or counter-terrorism, the government has always stood up to outside pressure.

He assured that all steps necessary for national security and construction of necessary infrastructure will continue to be taken at a fast pace. He reassured the leaders about the capability of the armed forces to defend our borders and said that they have been given a free hand to take all necessary steps.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also briefed the meeting at the onset said that the nation will never forget the sacrifice of the martyrs.

The leaders of the political parties hailed the bravery displayed by the armed forces in Ladakh. They reposed faith in the leadership of the Prime Minister in this hour of crisis and expressed commitment to stand united with the government. They also shared their thoughts and ideas on dealing with the situation.

What am I hearing? The PM clarifies that "neither is anyone inside our territory nor are any of our posts captured." Did the Chinese vacate the captured territory and go back to their base? The PM's statement sounds like the Chinese did not enter our territory. If they did not occupy our territory, then why we made hue and cry about it? All the TVs were telecasting only the Chinese aggression. For me it looks like we have given up our claim on the encroached territory by the Chinese. That would definitely make the Chinese to sneak into India again as they have done time and again in the past. Though I was very concerned about the escalation of war between these two mighty countries, I was expecting Modi to fight back and capture the occupied land. We have now lost our prestige and are made laughing stock.

If Rahul Gandhi is reading this - Lower your taunts on the government - it's like hitting a brick wall - there's nothing you can do about it as BJP is in power and Indians have a short memory. Xi and Modi are very good friends since Gujarat days and this could all end up as an election stunt (government's mishandling of the lockdown and migrants difficulty has already been brushed inside the carpet)

What you should do is become the Voice for banning Chinese goods, services, investments and encourage local manufacture of what we currently import from China. Start banging the doors of BCCI for continuing sponsorship from China based companies and Patym for taking Chinese investments - turn little wins into bigger victories. For a successful democracy we need an efficient government and an effective opposition - don't start a campaign and disappear for days - take full charge - you are now a politician for life.

The world believes in THIRD PARTY certification. Why? A vested interest will ALWAYS mislead the audiences.

Will the Government employ a third party to assess if...

...the Chinese forces have occupied 1,000 sq.km. of Indian land or 10,000 sq.km.?

Can the Indian army declare that not an inch of India land has gone to the Chinese since 2014?

Modi is correct in saying: No Indian territory occupied by China, Pakistan or anyone. Ladakh is Kashmiri territory and not Indian Territory. Kashmir is disputed territory occupied by Pakistan in the west, China in the North (Akashi China) and India is in the South. United Nations Security council resolution asks India & Pakistan to have election In Kashmir, India lost it claim for Kashmir by canceling Article 370 of the constitution and written agreement between Maharaja Jai Singh of Kashmir, Prim mister of Kashmir Shake Abdula and Indian Government. China has a Veto power at UN and a Super power with strong economy & military will share Kashmir with it all whether friend Pakistan. India never benefited by Kashmir and lost millions in economy and thousands of young lives. Kashmir was always a liability & bad luck to India.

Every single map with the Army in Ladakh shows the LAC passing through Finger 8 at Pangong Tso. The Chinese are sitting eight kms to the west of it, have made bunkers and posts. So whose territory is it that they are in?
Does Modi's statement signal India is willing to live with China's forcible change of the status quo in the Galwan Valley and at Lake Pangong? By occupying unoccupied areas, China has put a halt to India's patrolling of those areas and built positions overlooking Indian defenses.

1)Is Modi saying that the External Affairs Ministry statement about Chinese trying to build a structure on the Indian side of the LAC is false?
    2) Does the PM mean all land where Chinese troops are at present is their territory ?
    3) Did our soldiers die on Indian territory or Chinese territory?
    4) Why did MEA say that China had tried to "erect a structure" in Galwan on our side of LAC, hindered patrolling etc?
5)Do the Chinese currently hold land that was previously patrolled by Indian troops?
6)If there was no intrusion why are 20 soldiers dead?
7)Did the Indian soldiers have firearms?
8)Did the political and military leadership miss intelligence alerts?

After surgical strike the BJP ruling government under PM Modi has also claimed the same. When the nation ask for the proof of air strikes it gave the security reasons. But at the same time Pakistan took the team of International journalist by helicopter troop to the area were India claimed has conducted the operation.

Now the technology so developed that even common man having little knowledge can access the satellite image before and after the China occupation.

    1. Is word of mouth has any value without the proof of satellite images?
    2. Why the three opposition parties are kept out of the joint meeting when the national security is in question?
    3. How many Indian soldiers are still Chinese control?
    4. Who has given the command to our soldiers without any combat gear?
    5. Why no compensation is given to the families of the martyr soldiers?
    6. Why does it took seven week to respond to the China aggression Galwan valley?
