Abu Dhabi: Tiny Tots Dazzle on ICK – Abu Dhabi’s Annual Day

Abu Dhabi, Feb. 13: International Community Kindergarten School – ICK ( formerly known as Indian Community Kindergarten/ILA Kindergarten) one of Abu Dhabi’s prestigious schools celebrated its 32nd Annual Day at Abu Dhabi Indian School Auditorium , in the presence of packed audience consisting of distinguished guests, parents and well wishers.
The dazzling display of talents by tiny tots was amazing to watch with their brilliant performance.
The evening’s proceedings commenced with Symbolic Lighting of lamp, School Anthem, and recitation of Holy Quran, followed by a welcome speech by Sylvia Pais – the veteran principal and well known Educationalist. She highlighted the achievements and performance for the year 2009 – 2010 and thanked her staff and helpers for their unstinted support.
Padmashree Dr. B.R. Shetty , Patron of the school and his wife Dr. Chandrakumari Shetty were the chief guests of the evening.
The school was recently taken over by NMC Group from the administration of Indian Embassy to meet the technical requirements of Education Ministry and named as International Community Kindergarten. This adds a nother feather on the cap of NMC Group in acquiring this prestigious school.
The evenings programme was loaded with exciting skits, song and dance performances by the tiny tots, which was seen to be believed. These tiny tots were trained to perform brilliantly, giving a colourful ambience by their dedicated teachers and helpers, who had strived hard to achieve this.
The programme included – the Cap seller and the monkeys, African Mambo, Ya Ba b Asnani Wah Wah, A taste of Sri Lanka, Wonders of Waste, Super Duper Circus, Zabardasht Jalwa, Gypsy Dance, Percussion Band, Carton Characters etc. etc.
The event was ably compered by Anna George and music was provided Cheryl Carvalho.
All the performances were breathtaking and it was amazing t watch the tiny tots performing so well putting to shame the adults, such was the discipline and enactment by these future adults.
The achievers for the year 2009 – 2010 were honoured by the Chief Guest.
In his presidential speech the Chief Guest Padmashree Dr. B.R Shetty applauded the teaching staff and the helpers for their wonderful and dedicated job, to a standing ovation. He also expressed his desire to expand the school to a better premises under the new Management to cater for the needs of the community..
The days programme concluded with National Anthem of both UAE and India.
