Mangalore: Amrita Sangama - Thousands of Devotees Throng to Seek Amma’s Blessings

Mangalore, Feb 13: Amrita Sangama -2010, the yearly confluence of devotees as part of Brahmasthanam Mahotsav in the presence of Mata Amritanandamayi Devi began at Brahmasthana, Boloor here on Saturday February 13.
The two-day celebration started with the rituals in the morning along with satsang, bhajan and darshan programmes. A lot of devotees from the district had already assembled in the morning for bhajan and satsang programmes. Thousands of devotees sought the blessing of their most loved ‘Amma’, the hugging saint at the huge pandal erected at the venue.
Along with Amma, her team of devotees from various parts of the country also joined in the bhajan and Satsang programmes. Meditation and Lalita Sahasranama Archana were held prior to satsang programme led by Amma.
Formal function to mark the Amrita Sangama was held in presence of district in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar, Dr Subroto Chatterjee, director, John Hopkins medical university, Maryland, USA, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and MLA N Yogish Bhat. The organizing committee members and office-bearers too were present along with Amma.
Amrita Sangama will conclude on Sunday February 14.
