Chikkamagaluru: Gram panchayat president demolishes bus stand to enhance own house's look

Daijiworld Media Network - Chikkamagaluru (SP)

Chikkamagaluru, Jun 23: In an incident which smacks of mindlessness and happened in S Bidare gram panchayat limits in Kadur taluk of the district, the president of a gram panchayat demolished a rural bus stand as she believed that the bus stand interfered with the looks of her own house.

The incident happened in Siddapur village within S Bidare gram panchayat. President of the gram panchayat, Dakshayanamma, and her children demolished the government bus stand. The locals have accused her of misusing her position in demolishing a government structure.

It is said that Dakshayanamma and her children Prabhakar and Jagadish, demolished the bus stand with the help of a backhoe and tractor. They claimed that there was no way to their home and that the bus stand was blocking the approach to the house located by the side of the road and it blocked the view of their house.

People of Siddapur have turned their ire at the gram panchayat president for this act. They have complained to the zilla panchayat chief executive officer and deputy commissioner of the district, seeking to cancel her membership. They also have asked the superintendent of police to act against her.

Thats our politicians .No proper education .no proper knowlegde what is what.I think she and sons were drunk and in a affect demolished the bus stand.otherwise one who has normal understanding power will not do this.Till now how were they entering the house ?Does she think her house is a parliment house? So that people can come in and go?Now she should be made to erect the busstand as it was and a make her pay fine. Her ticket should be cancelled.otherwise people should make her house as bus stand when rains or hot sun .must have lost all her senses.

This is the top most inner weakness of India ..which we have to tackle as people of India. I do not know how we get this mentality ..this party or that party ..this religion or that religion we are all in the same neurotic state in such matters.
Never ready to learn or understand the absurdity of what we are doing. WE want easy money ..easy life ..with out effort ..this drives us into corruption.
China ,Pakistan or terrorism ..would be last in my personal list of enemies of India.

Instead of demolishing, she should have refurbished it to look modern style with some seats and an air conditioner. it would have been given a good look to her house and made pride for her and her supporters who voted her to win this position.
