BJP should look at its conduct when in opposition: Congress

New Delhi, Jun 24 (IANS): The Congress has hit back at BJP national president J.P. Nadda asking him to look at their "conduct" as opposition party during the UPA rule. Nadda had called Rahul Gandhi a "dynast" and said opposition is not only about one dynasty.

Hitting back at the BJP, the Congress said, "BJP should not hide on the back of the army."

The Congress said the BJP should look back its conduct when it attacked the government on delicate foreign policy issues during the UPA rule.

"Will the Prime Minister offer public apology for BJP for its conduct during 2004-2014 when BJP brought no confidence motion on Indo-US civil nuclear deal and Bhagat Singh Koshyari leading a delegation to India-China border, "said Congress MP Manish Tewari.

While in opposition, the BJP had sent a party delegation to the India-China border to get first hand information on Chinese incursions. The delegation was led by Bhagat Singh Koshyari, who is now Maharashtra Governor.

BJP president Nadda while criticising Rahul Gandhi had said, "One 'royal' dynasty and their 'loyal' courtiers have grand delusions of the Opposition being about one dynasty. A dynast throws tantrums and his courtiers peddle that fake narrative. Latest one relates to the Opposition asking questions to the Government."

Another Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi said, "Instead of attacking Rahul Gandhi, BJP should listen to what he says and if they heed his advice the situation would have been better."

The Congress party has been targeting the government over the India-China border issue. Randeep Surjewala, Chief spokesperson of the party, had also launched a scathing attack on the BJP President and had asked him to show the courage to ask the Modi government about 2,264 Chinese transgressions since 2015, martyrdom of 471 jawans & 253 civilians in J&K alone, the highest in 30 years.

The Congress said there were 3,289 ceasefire violations by Pakistan in 2019 alone, the highest in 16 years, up from 583 in 2014.

"Stop compromising on 'National Security' & India's 'Territorial Integrity'. This would be the biggest disservice to our Armed Forces & our 20 martyrs," added Surjewala.

The BJP today is accusing the Congress of obstructionism. For years, it stood guilty of the same charge.
The BJP during the UPA regime, Sushma Swaraj, then leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, had declared that “not allowing Parliament to function is also a form of democracy, like any other form”.

Her counterpart in the Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley, had justified the opposition demands for the resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the stalling of parliamentary proceedings following the controversy over the allocation of coal blocks. “By disrupting Parliament, we have given out a message to the country,” he had said.

Late PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee arrived at the Parliament House on a bullock cart in 1973 to protest against the hike in petrol and kerosene prices by Congress government. Today the same BJP government increased the petrol and Diesel prices for 17 consecutive days and 13 times increased the cess making one of the most expensive commodity indirectly affecting the retail pricing.

The BJP should stop blatant politicization of the sacrifices of the armed forces. and national security must transcend narrow political considerations.

You need to check the videos before 2014 and see how it relates to the price rise, transparency in PM fund, fuel price increase, china agression etc.

Adding to this just include Nirmalakka, Irani akka dance on road during slight fuel hike. See the quality of protest then, cheap speeches by non other than Modi. All those videos are making rounds and people are enjoying the fun. You may be getting videos only from Fake WhatsApp University and hence may not be aware.

Congress is far more decent in protesting.

Equal part of 'Dynasty' is officially with BJP too as Varun Gandhi and Menaka Gandhi. Why Menaka Gandhi Is using Gandhi name why can't she use her maiden name if BJP is so particular about using Gandhi names which scares them and haunting them day and night?????.??......The 'Dynasty' which is envy of BJP is maintained solely by the blessing and confidence of the people since 70 but not by smear campaign, corruption, scams, crimes and EVMs.
