Flying on instalments: IndiGo allows flexible ticket payment option

New Delhi, Jun 25 (IANS): In its bid to mitigate business impact of Covid-19, airline major IndiGo on Thursday launched the 'Flex' pay option.

According to the airline, with the help of 'Flex' pay, passengers can now secure their bookings by paying only 10 per cent of the total fare amount and defer their payment on domestic flight for a period of "up to 15 days either from the date of bookings or before the date of departure".

For instance, the minimum Flex Pay Payment for a Delhi-Mumbai round trip for one passengers will be Rs 800.

"Whilst making the payment of the balance amount corresponding to the booking where a customer has exercised the 'Flex Pay Option', the 'Flex Pay Payment' paid by the customer upfront will be adjusted against the total booking amount," the airline said in a statement.

At present, the airline offers close to 350 commercial flights daily, due to the capped capacity norms.

It has also deployed 10 aircraft for cargo operations.
