New Delhi, Jun 25 (IANS): Pune Customs has seized around Rs 2.10 crore narcotics in the city on Wednesday, said an official on Thursday. Four persons, aged 30-35 years and residents of Maharashtra, have been detained.
The Narcotics Cell of Pune Customs had received the input regarding narcotic drugs in trucks coming from some remote locations of Andhra Pradesh and destined for various places in Maharashtra.
"Based on it, the officers kept vigil and surveillance on the Naldurg-Solapur Road, near Boramani Village, Solapur, on June 24, 2020," it said. On spotting the trucks at Boramani-Naldurg Road, the team followed and intercepted them in Pune.
The contraband had been concealed in the cavity created on the roof of the vehicles. The team seized 868 kg ganja, valued at Rs 1.04 crore. It also recovered 7.5 kg charas, valued in the illicit drug market at Rs 0.75 crore.
