Gujarat govt's online aid of Rs 1,369 crore for MSMEs, textile industry

Gandhinagar, Jun 26 (IANS): Announcing an aid of Rs 1,369 crore for micro small and medium enterprises and textile industries, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Friday kickstarted the online cash aid initiative - 'At One Click' - for around 13,000 MSMEs in Gujarat.

The Chief Minister has called upon the state's MSME units and industries to take up the challenge of converting this adversity of corona crisis into an opportunity.

"The state government is committed to encourage industries, businesses and trades in the state to revive them and restore the former vibrancy of the state, with an aim 'Jaan hai to Jahan hai'," said Rupani.

The Chief Minister started the initiative 'At one click' with Rs 768 crore in bank accounts of 12,247 MSME units in Gujarat and also Rs 601 crore aid to bigger industrial units including textile industry. Thus, a total of Rs 1,369 crore in aid was facilitated for around 13,000 units in the state.

Talking to the industries representatives at district level offices through video conference, Rupani said, "The DNA of entrepreneurship is in the blood of Gujarat, so instead of lamenting over coronavirus crisis and doing nothing, we want to push the pace of development onto a higher limit then even the previous pace of development. We are not only announcing the package, but will also implement it within a week's time through finishing the entire process of framing the government resolution for it."

"We also want to ensure that the MSMEs in the state gets maximum benefit under the Prime Minister's 'Atma Nirbhar Bharat' package and for that we have planned accordingly. Under this package, in a period of just two weeks, we have sanctioned Rs 8,200 crore by accepting loan applications of 1.3 lakh units in Gujarat and have disbursed Rs 4,175 crore already," added Rupani.
