New Delhi, Jun 27 (IANS): Even as India witnessed a spike of over 18,000 fresh cases of novel coronavirus and total cases crossing five lakh mark, former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Saturday took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his silence, saying he has surrendered and is refusing to fight the pandemic.

"Covid-19 is spreading rapidly into new parts of the country. Government of India has no plan to defeat it. Prime Minister is silent. He has surrendered and is refusing to fight the pandemic," Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet attaching a news report highlighting that the government has become less visible.

His remarks came after India witnessed a highest single-day spike of COVID-19 cases adding over 18,000 patients in just 24 hours taking the tally to over half a million cases.

A total of 18,552 new cases took the tally up to 5,08,953 as India continued to be the fourth worst hit among 213 countries.

Now, it is only a lakh cases away from Russia, which is in the third spot behind the US and Brazil.

According to the health ministry data, 384 new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 15,685 in the country.

Satellite images confirm and further consolidate Rahul Gandhi's claim of increase in Covid-19 virus cases as many people going to hospitals and testing centre from satellites and transgression of Chinese troops into our territory by satellite images. Nehru Gandhi haters should know this.

Nehru-Gandhi family were very rich and there was no need for them to be the part of the freedom struggle if there was no love for the country. They would have lived for many generations with the huge assets they had. Motilal Nehru, Jawaharlal Nehru and even Indira Gandhi took part in freedom struggle taking all the pain of being in prison, without normal life for many years. They donated some of their assets like Anand Bhavan to government.If they have become Prime Ministers it was because the people loved them for their contribution to India. These people talk of dynasty without understanding their contribution in India's freedom struggle and progress.

What is the the contribution of Modi or Shah? Anybody of their ancestors did anything for the country? They came to power defaming Nehru-Gandhi family on utter lies and did nothing for the country except taking our country back to decades with wrong policies and decisions. They have completely failed in fighting Corona Virus or Chinese. People of the country have been left in distress.

Elections can be won by spreading lies after lies, polarising people on the basis of religion and showing moon to the people. But nobody can take away the greatness of any family if their contribution to the country has changed the course to become powerful nation.

There is need to know the truth. Already IT cell of BJP was successful in spreading the their version of portraying Nehru Gandhi family in a bad light undermining the contribution to the country before and after independence. BJP is not having even one family which contributed to this country and hence using a word dynasty against one family whose sacrifice will remain in the hearts of people.

Nice to know that you stay in Bahrain. It is a nice place and is like mini India. I stayed in 2018-19 and came back to India after retirement of my husband. All these people who divide the nation on the basis of religion should visit Bahrain and see how all Indians are living cordially without differentiation between faiths.

This government was never honest from day one in fighting the virus. All decisions of screening and lockdown was taken based on political convenience. People and country should have been the first option before the party and the leader. But unfortunately that was not the way this government thinks.

Initially the inexperienced government thought that they can use COVID-19 for the publicity of their leader. Events were organized with lot of publicity, but with the same enthusiasm no effective action was taken in fighting the virus or taking care of effected people due to lockdown.

Slowly when the things were going out of control, Central government just got out of the scene and put the onus of complete responsibility on State governments. Now we cannot see these ministers anymore except virtual rallies of their party.

Heartless government in the history of India.

In September last year, Tapir Gao, the Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Lok Sabha MP from Arunachal East, made a startling claim. The BJP MP from the area he elected is retreating that Chinese has now permanent incursion in Aruchal Pradesh despite his warning.

If there are no incursion of China, then why did Prime Minister office of Modi has deleted the 'You Tube' video of 'no incursion and no post occupied' comment?

Spread of virus which is now far and wide across india, with the utter negligence and arrogance of Modi Govt.

In Feb, BJP leader ridiculed Rahul, when he asked Modi Govt to take preventive and pro-active steps. He was called pappu. Even after 5lakh infections and close to 16k deaths, he is still been called pappu, by bhakts.

In every crisis BJP party funds gets fatter by 1000's of crores each time. Who cares of loss of life, loss of jobs, unemployment, price raises, lack of leadership and lack of direction. Few thousand bhakts ruling social and digital media, can even make a starving young man and almost dying person believe, he is better off now, than he had a house, fly and a job few years back.

Dude, we know who's the real china hero. pm visited china 9 times recently. And surrendered precious Indian land to China without any retaliation, even martyring our soldiers in the process. Got the statue of unity constructed in China, and now even after the insurgence gave engineering contracts worth thousands of crores to China while our soldiers were killed. pm even made school children wear the chinese pm's masks when he visited India. Doesnt want to share the figures or ledgers of his so called pm cares fund.
He lied blatantly that our land was not annexed. Next day they deleted his statement because of his goof up.
Not even attended one press conference to assure that the nation is safe and secure. By not fighting china now, we are sure of two things, he doesnt have the courage and he is scared of china and he is totally clueless on how to tackle covid 19. diya, taali bjao, patanjali...these are this guy's cure really amazing.
