Mangalore: Theft in City – Cash, Ornaments, Clothes worth Rs 2.8 lac Stolen

Mangalore, Feb 19: Thieves entered the house of Hassan Kemminje located in Vas Lane, Falnir in the city on the night of Wednesday February 17 and took away cash, gold ornaments and clothes worth Rs 2.8 lac.

It is said that the family members were away from home since the evening of Wednesday till Thursday morning. The theft took place during this period, which the family realized upon their return. The thieves seemed to know that the family had kept ready cash, jewellery and clothes for a marriage scheduled to take place in the family within the next few days. One lac rupees in cash, gold ornaments worth Rs 80,000 and 12 saris and other clothes worth one lac rupees, are among the things stolen.

On a complaint filed by the owner of the house, Kadri policemen have registered a case.
