No positive COVID-19 result in latest round of testing: EFL

London, Jul 1 (IANS): There have been no coronavirus positive results in the latest round of testing across the English Football League.

A total of 3,263 players and staff were tested across Championship, League One and League Two clubs in the past week, EFL said in a statement on Wednesday.

There were all 24 Championship clubs who were involved in testing, with just the four play-off sides from League One and four League Two clubs being tested.

A total of six rounds of games are left in the Championship, with the League One play-offs starting on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Chinese Football Association (CFA) has announced that the postponed Chinese Super League (CSL) 2020 season, which was originally scheduled to begin on February 22, will start from July 25.

Suzhou, in south China's Jiangsu Province, and Dalian, in the northern Liaoning Province, have been selected as the two host cities to start the season, said the CFA, without mentioning a specific league format in the statement
