23 more ITBP jawans tested Covid-19 positive in Himachal


Shimla, Jul 2 (IANS): A day after five Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) jawans tested Covid-19 positive in Himachal Pradesh, 23 new patients belonging to the paramilitary force and with travel history to Srinagar were reported on Thursday.

Seventeen jawans belonging to 43rd ITBP Battalion, who were stationed at a camp in Jangi of the Kinnaur district, tested positive. Their samples had been collected on June 30, officials said.

Six ITBP jawans, stationed in another camp in the Shimla district, also tested Covid-19 positive.

A total of 28 cases were reported in the state on Thursday, said the state health bulletin. With this the total number of active cases in the state rose to 359. The state has reported eight deaths.
