Mangaluru: Sarvotham Shetty chosen member of Tulu Sahitya Academy

Mangaluru, Jul 4: Karnataka government has appointed Sarvotham Shetty, cultural ambassador of Kannada and Tulu languages at the UAE and president of Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha, who happens to be an ardent supporter and fan of Tulu language, as a member of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy.

The government has passed an order, appointing members to various academies and authorities falling under Kannada and culture department, to fill vacant positions. Five persons including Sarvotham Shetty have been chosen for Kannada Tulu Sahitya Academy as its members. These appointments were made by the minister for Kannada and culture, C T Ravi.

 

Sarvotham Shetty had successfully organized the Vishwa Tulu Sammelan at Dubai in the year 2018. He nurses special care, love, and concern for Tulu language and has worked for it in many ways.

Shetty had actively taken part in the programmes held at Mulky, Badiadka, Adyar, etc as part of the Vishwa Tulu Sammelan and contributed to the success of these programmes.

First time in the history an Anivasi Tuluva (NRI) is getting this prestigious post.
