Mangalore: American Library to Visit Mangalore

Mangalore, Feb 22: The American Library of the U S Consulate General, Chennai will bring a two-day exhibition to the city which will be open to the public from Thursday February 25 to Friday February 26 between 10.00 am to 7.00 pm.

Professor K K Achary, acting vice-chancellor, Mangalore University will inaugurate the exhibition at Ravindra Kalabhavan, Mangalore University College on Wednesady. The programme is co-sponsored by the Mangalore University Library and the University Library.

The traveling exhibition will feature presentations on the resources and services of the American Library along with a book exhibition and video corner. Exhibits on Abraham Lincoln – a portrait of a president and Journeys toward Freedom”, about Martin Luther King will provide the back drop for the event.

The theme of the exhibition will be celebration of Black History Month. American Library staff will provide information on how residents from outside of Chennai can access the Library’s extensive resources via mail, telephone, fax, email and the internet and offer on-the-spot membership for both individuals and institutions.
