Mangalore: Enthusiast Bike Sports Freak Enjoy as Bikers Raced to Thrill

Mangalore, Feb 22: It was a thrilling day for adventure freaks on Sunday February 21 with bikers from all over the state participating in the `Dirt Track- 2010’ organized by All College Students’ Association at Kuloor in the city.
The event that comprised six categories namely Indian Open , 2 – stroke class, 4 - stroke class, student class, local class and scooter class was organized to encourage biking talent. The state-level event saw 86 bikers from Bangalore, Mysore, Chickmagalur, Hassan and Tumkur apart from locals vying with one another to top the categories in turn providing wholesome entertainment to the bike sports enthusiasts.
In open class, Nitin from Bangalore got the first place, Anil Kumar and Naresh won the second and third place, respectively. The 2 – stroke class winner was again Nitin from Bangalore with Anil Kumar and Rajendra sharing the second and third places, respectively, while Naresh, Rajendra and Vinod came first, second and third, respectively in 4 - stroke class. Tanveer from Mysore won the first place in student class, while Adnan Ahmed and Athikan shared second and third place, respectively.
In local class Adnan Ahmed won the first place with Sudeep and Siddarth gaining the next two spots, respectively. Abijith Shetty and Nikhil from Bangalore shared the first and second places in Scooter Class and Nikhil was the third place winner.
The Dirt Track-2010 was inaugurated by district in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar. Valentine D Souza, Panambur circle inspector was the chief guest. Prizes were given away by Ganesh Rao, Ccairman of Karavali Group of Colleges at the ceremony held in the evening. Convenors from All College Students’ Association, Gururaj Yemmekere, Vincent Pinto, Preetham Bangera, Dalton D’Souza, Abhilash and others were present. A preliminary round was held a day before the main event on Saturday February 20.
