J&K's Covid-19 tally rises to 8,931, 5 more deaths reported


Srinagar, Jul 8 (IANS): A total of 256 fresh cases were reported in J&K on Tuesday, taking the total number of Covid-19 patients in the Union Territory to 8,931.

A statement issued by the Information and Public Relations Department said said that 74 of the cases were in the Jammu division and 182 in the Kashmir division.

Five patients succumbed on Tuesday, taking the UT's toll to 143 people, while 5,399 have completely recovered.

The number of active cases is 3,389 out of which 542 are in the Jammu division and 2,847 in the Kashmir division.
