Deve Gowda Instigating Farmers: CM
Bangalore, Feb 24 (DHNS) : Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Tuesday accused JD(S) leader and former prime minister H D Deve Gowda of inciting farmers against the BJP government in a bid to vitiate the law and order in the State.
Addressing a press conference in Bangalore, Yeddyurappa accused Gowda of levelling baseless charges against the State government to create hurdles for development.
He blamed Gowda of being indirectly responsible for Tuesday’s attack by some locals on Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) officials at Chikkagollarahati off Magadi Road in Bangalore.
He said Gowda was misleading the public by stating that 1.82 lakh acres had been acquired for land banks. Only 43,854 acres had been acquired by the KIADB, that too with the consent of the farmers. The Government is ready to discuss the issues threadbare, he said.
