Washington, Feb 24 (DPA) Former US vice president Dick Cheney suffered a mild heart attack when he was hospitalised Monday after feeling chest pains, a statement released by his office said.
A statement released by aide Peter Long said testing at George Washington University Hospital in Washington showed he suffered a mild heart attacks and was recovering well. He underwent a heart catheterisation.
"He is feeling good and is expected to be discharged in the next day or two," the statement published by CNN said.
Cheney, 69, has a long history of heart problems and previously had four heart attacks beginning in the 1970s. Cheney served as vice president in George W Bush's administration from 2001-09.
