Bihar's Ruling Party Legislator Kills Wife,Daughter, Self

Patna, Feb 26 (IANS) Bihar's ruling Janata Dal-United (JD-U) legislator Abhay Singh shot dead his wife and daughter late Thursday night before killing himself at his home here, police said Friday.

Family sources however said that Singh, legislator from Jamui and son of Bihar Minister for Food and Consumer Protection Narendra Singh, committed the acts early Friday.

Singh first shot dead his wife and daughter and later killed himself, the police said, adding that the the daughter was less than a year old.

The incident has sent shockwaves in political circles here.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, most of the ministers, legislators and Leader of Opposition Rabri Devi visited Singh's residence.

The reason behind Singh's actions are yet to be ascertained. However, according to family sources, Singh, in his early 40s, was upset for some time due to differences with his father over some family matter.

They said that Singh's father fell unconscious after hearing of the deaths.

"Narendra Singh was admitted to Indira Gandhi Heart Institute at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) here after his condition deteriorated. He is in the intensive care unit," a JD-U leader close to him said.

A police official said all three bodies have been sent to the PMCH for post mortem.

    Very unfortunate and sad. Tragic step taken by the son of powerful minister/politician. Gone are gone, but the father who is a politician has to suffer until he dies. People should earn legal earnings and should not amass wealth by illegal means, a wealth that really belongs to the masses. Can this minister bring back his son and granddaughter even if he pledges all his wealth???? NO. He cant. Peace of mind and health are gift of Creator. Any one earns legally an spends legally on his faimly/poor shall no doubt be blessed with health and peae of mind and long life. See the personal life of some of our politicians who dont have the basic eithics, wives are killed. With political patron, justice is not done. But in God's court I am sure justice shall be done and noone would escape God's addalat. Almost all politicians of present time are restless and they dont have any peace of mind, because they themselves are corrupt, selfish. The intensity of such horrible incidents would only raise in the future and it wont surprise us at all. Remember Peace of mind and good health are no doubt the gift of God and God blesses whom He wills and curses whom He wills.
