Mangalore: City Gets New Kazi in Twaka Ahmed Musliyar

Mangalore, Feb 26: Al-Haj Twaka Ahmed Musliyar has been unanimously elected as the Kazi of the city after the mysterious death former kazi C M Abdulla Musliyar.



The decision was taken at a meeting of representatives of the Zeenath Baksh Jumma Masjid Jamath and other Muslim leaders under the presidentship of Haji Y Abdullah Kunhi at the Zeenath Baksh auditorium, here on Thursday, February 25.

President of district Wakhf Board, Y Muhammad Kunhi, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district Muslim Central Committee president K S Muhammad Masood and former mayor K Ashraf among others were present.

    It’s the lucky of Mangalore Muslim to have Twaka Ahmed Musliyar as a Khazi of the region. He is one of the current prominent Islamic scholars of Samastha Jam-iyyathul Ulama. He is a graduate of world famous Islamic university Al-Azhar, Cairo in Egypt. In order to completion of his studies in Cairo, he had been invited by royal family of Oman to being an Imam of their new mosque ‘Twaka’ in Salalah. Later he has known as Shiekh Twaka Ahmed Moulavi. He had been working as an Imam since 1978 to last year. He had numerous disciples during his long term work in the Salalah. He was one of the highly respected Islamic scholars in Salalah by local Arabs and expatriates. He has biggest book collection at his home. His main hobby is reading. Everyday he spends about 19 hours for read. He is expert in using of a number of languages. Besides, he is a nephew of late Khazi C.M Abdullah Moulavi, Chemberikka. Let’s welcome great scholar Shiekh Twaka Ahmed Moulavi to the honorable chair of Mangalore Khazi.
