Kin of ASHA, Anganwadi Covid-19 victims to get pension in Odisha


Bhubaneswar, Jul 17 (IANS): The Odisha government on Friday announced a monthly pension for the kin of Anganwadi and ASHA workers who succumb to Covid-19 in the line of duty.

While Rs 7,500 per month will be given to the spouse or next of kin of deceased Anganwadi workers, Rs 5000 per month will be provided to the next of kin of deceased ASHA workers, said an order issued by the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC).

"The spouse/next of kin of deceased Anganwadi Worker, who succumbs to Covid-19 in line of duty under active deployment by the State authorities, shall continue to receive Rs 7500 only per month till the date he/she would have attained the age of 60 years had he/she survived," said the order.

"The spouse/next of kin of deceased ASHA working under H&FW Department, who succumb to Covid-19 in line of duty under active deployment by the State authorities, shall continue to receive Rs 5000 only per month till the date he/she would have attained the age of 60 years had he/she survived," it said.
