India will have to pay huge price for govt's cowardly actions: Rahul

New Delhi, Jul 18 (IANS): Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Saturday slammed the Narendra Modi government over the LAC face off with China in eastern Ladakh, saying India will have to pay a huge price because of the government's cowardly actions.

"China has taken our land and GoI (Government of India) is behaving like Chamberlain. This will further embolden China. India is going to pay a huge price because of GoI's cowardly actions," Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet attaching a video of Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressing the armed forces in Ladakh during his visit to the forward areas.

Rajnath Singh said during his visit to the eastern Ladakh region on Friday, "India wants peace but there is no guarantee of the final outcome of talks with China."

Rajnath Singh, who is on a two-day visit to Leh, Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir, also reviewed the ground situation in the hostile border areas.

Rahul Gandhi has been critical of the Union government over the LAC faceoff with China in eastern Ladakh. In his first video series also, the former Congress chief had targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a tweet on Friday, Rahul Gandhi said, "Since 2014, the Prime Minister's constant blunders and indiscretions have fundamentally weakened India and left us vulnerable. Empty words don't suffice in the world of geopolitics."

In his video, the Congress leader said that "China chose this time to intrude in our land as India's foreign policy, economy and relationship with neighbouring countries are disrupted".

Rahul Sir, India is already paying a heavy price for two reasons. Border issue and incompetent government is one . But a spineless, directionless and leaderless opposition party is the second reason. The day you allow able leaders to take over the opposition and learn to work with them we will be much better off than today. If the country can be still rescued from the mercenaries is a different issue.

Yes you are right. Lack of a good All India level opposition party or leader is the biggest problem for our country now. Democracy will fail if the opposition party is weak.

Sorry Richard, its the ' supporters' of the opposition to blame . How can you blame Rahul or the leaders? He is doing his job and expects our full fledged support., that apparently is not visible.
RaGa called for a protest against price hike 3 weeks back. Do you know how many people turned up in Mangalore ? Only 29 ! and in Bangalore? Only 52!. Then we say 'RaGa is not taken seriously''.
Sitting in a room, sipping cofee and bashing Modi /BJP day in day out will with fake ids on internet wont revive or make the party strong. You cannot call the opposition spineless. We have to ask ourselves ''What is MY contribution ''?

'Only few people turned up to support ' you say sir, but did it ever occur to you why ? Congress party is a very old party and its supporters are not blind supporters motivated by some communal feeling of unity. There were seasoned and experienced politicians and leaders. Have you ever thought why recently even the best politicians left ? or for that matter every politician of the party good or bad is de moralized ? Every loyal party supporter did his best to save the sinking ship, but the captain is hell bent on hanging on to the helm .

I totally agree with you Sir. I am not that fan of Congress. But I am worried about our country just for the simple fact that a democracy without opposition is nothing but an autocracy. Absolute majority in any democracy is disastrous.

China, Pakistan and now Nepal know very well that present govt is the weakest and cowardly polically, policy wise and intellectually. If China flashes some cash the whole BJP clan will fall head over heels to them offering to take over the country. Pakistan if hosts some party Modi will be there uninvited dancing with terrorists. Nepal has declared its very dear to Lord Ram than India because his choice of birth in Nepal. Other neighbouring countries will join the chorus against India if BJP rule continues in India. After all China is praising Modi and Modi is not mentioning China by name on incursion. So money can shut ones mouth or open too. Both ways it's dangerous and india have to pay a huge price at the end.

Rahul has Gone Down... He does not appear bright even in photos.
That some one writes scripts for him is obvious.
Think the new strategy is' bore them till they vote for you '... and I am afraid this won't work.
Listen to Sanjay Jha at least....
