Mangalore: Prasad Attavar Remanded to Judicial Custody for 15 Days

Mangalore, Mar 2: Arrested Sri Rama Sene leader Prasad Attavar has been sent to judicial custody for 15 days, after he was produced before the judicial magistrate of third court in the city by Kadri police on Tuesday March 2.
Prasad’s relative Rajendra, charged with the same offence, was also with him when the duo were presented before the judge at his residence in Bondel.
Prasad is in custody for his close association with underworld don Ravi Poojary, whose plans he helped execute.
He has been charged with sections 143, 144, 502, 511, 325, 328 and 120B r/w 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
The police have said that Prasad has revealed his involvement with Poojary and had distributed money given by the gangster to other criminals.
Kadri police will again request the court on Wednesday March 3 to seek his custody for interrogation.
The police requested the court to hand over the accused to their custody, but it was not granted. The police want to investigate Prasad more in order to uncover information about the underworld activities in the city.
