Bengaluru: Coronavirus result to be sent via SMS, if you test negative

Bengaluru, Jul 19: The health and family welfare department has decided to inform people of their coronavirus results via SMS, only if they test negative.

Director of National Health Campaign, under health and family welfare services, has issued a circular in this regard.

Nodal officers of Covid-19 laboratories have been instructed to send the results through SMS in Kannada and English languages to people who test negavtive.

The health and family welfare services department has also given the format in which this SMS needs to be sent to the respective patient. The format will contain the patient id, result (negative) and note stating that if the person develops any symptoms like fever, cough, breathlessness, he or she should call toll free helplines 14410 or 104.

Apart from the above, the state government has also allowed home treatment of asymptomatic patients and those with mild symptoms, so that resources like beds and equipment are available for serious patients.
