Kalaburagi: Pigs found roaming in govt hospital's corridor, photos go viral

Daijiworld Media Network - Kalaburagi (MS)

Kalaburagi, Jul 19: Shocking video and photos of pigs roaming around freely in the corridor of a state-run hospital have been going viral on social media, prompting netizens to express their rage against the hospital and the district administration.

The incident occurred in the GIMS hospital.

Four pigs and half a dozen piglets were seen in the corridor of the hospital, an official admitted on Sunday.

"As one of the doors was open, the pigs strayed into the corridor of the hospital's general ward in search of food, which some in-patients throw in the dustbin in the corner," said a district health official, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The official hastened to clarify that the corridor was not in the hospital's Covid ward, which is sanitised and where entry is restricted.

Though the pigs were seen strolling in the corridor and exiting from the open door 2-3 days ago, their video clip went viral on the social media on Sunday.

"As the city is under lockdown again since July 15, civic workers have not been reporting to work daily to keep the premises secure from dogs and pigs, which stray into the hospital some times in search of food," said the official.

Deputy commissioner Sharath B, who visited the hospital after the video and photos went viral, asked the owner of the pigs to take them out of the premises.

The DC also took to task the medical officers of GIMS hospital and told them that it was the primary responsibility of the hospital authorities to ensure clean and hygienic environment around the campus of the hospital, where thousands of patients visit everyday.

Noting that it was a serious issue, the DC instructed the officials of the hospital to file an FIR against the owner of the pigs. He also instructed the commissioner of the city corporation to close all the narrow passages around the compound wall of the hospital to prevent the pigs from entering the hospital premises. DC Sharath also took to task the security guards of the hospital.

Because of people and politicians, north karnataka remains the worst developed place in the state. It is equivalent to Bihar and UP in Uttar pradesh.

If we also file FIR against cow owners who let their cattle roam on public places then there will be political ramification. Now, pigs are target for their innocent uninvited visit to a wrong place.

The person who is only fit to be the gatekeeper of the hospital is in Bangalore as the Health Minister.

This is the tragedy of our state. Yeddyurappa must immediately replace him and appoint a competent person if this state is to be saved. The present Health Minister just has no idea what is happening. However, in all fairness to him, it is not his fault. How on earth can you expect a person of his calibre to occupy such an important position and deliver?

Interesting.Pigs must have come over there to clean the premises of hospital. Why file FIR against owner of pig.In the first instance hospital has to keep the surroundings free from any animals entering the premises. What was watchman doing ?If any.

Mostly hospital premises are with a wall or fence closed.main door with a gate.Owner of pigs must take care.who knows now when cows are lacking, pigs too may disappear fast.May be hospital must be disposing garbage not according to law,but simply around open .so crows pigs ,dogs are attracted to come in.

Lan sir, after operation is successful, can prepare tasty bafath, fugath, vindaloo, ragthi etc... Some days back monkeys were seen in the hospital rooms hanging everywhere....stray cats roam inside the wards and sometimes even dogs...its really risky and dangerous for the patients especially monkeys. Rest of the animals will run away after chasing....but monkeys are stubborn.. .

A butcher at the pork shop was called urgently to come to his home by his wife. He told the clerk, to take care of the shop till he is back.

A customer came, in the mean time and asked for a special part of the pig's body. The clerk having not known the part, was unable to give that part.

Realizing the clerk's less knowledge on this trade, the customer asked him, if he himself could cut the piece and clerk obliged. Within a second, the customer cut the desired part.

Amazed by this, the clerk asked the customer whether he too was a butcher. Customer replied "No, I am a surgeon"

As per the hindu holy scriptures" Varaha" is the avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu which is also a sacred animal for them like cow. It is beyond one's understanding why hindutva extremist groups ignore this animal.
