Bangalore, Mar 4: The state government is learnt to have accepted the proposal of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), North-West KRTC and North-East KRTC have increased the bus fare by around 5 per cent.

According to the sources, the fare of KSRTC will go up by 4.76 per cent. Similarly the fares of North-East KSRTC and North-West KSRTC buses will be increased by 4.74 per cent and 4.93 per cent respectively. The corporations have said the hike was necessary to offset the financial burden caused to increase in operational costs.

With this, the fares from Mangalore-Bangalore in express would be 217, while in Rajahamsa Rs 332. Likewise, the fares to Mysore from Bangalore will be Rs 85 instead of Rs 81 by express and Rs 131 instead of Rs 125 by Rajahamsa.

for rajahamsa- bangalore karkala... old base fare was 335 but online e-ticket booking now shows base fare of 361. Is this really 5% increase.?
Last year when govt reduced fuel prices during election (by 5Rs) ksrtc didn't reduce the prices. now just increase of 3rs on fuel prices resulted in 10% hike in the bus fares? now ksrtc has turned into any other private business house and hike in fare is unfair. now both central and state govt are anti-people.
If you travel once over shiradi ghats over ksrtc bus then you need one week rest or even it may result in serious bone dislocation! ksrtc buses are un-hygenic and not clean. please wake up!

There's no party business in the hikes of prices. They are a consequence of a number of elements beyond the authority of common people. What shocks is that inspite of raisng prices, the road system worsens day by day. Can we raise our voices and get what we want in our Swaraj?
