Bhairon Road caves in due to heavy rain, traffic diverted


New Delhi, Jul 21 (IANS): Due to consistent rain on Tuesday heavy waterlogging on Ring Road was reported. The carriageway of Bhairon Road leading to Mathura road has also caved in, blocking the entire stretch and forcing diversion of traffic.

"The traffic coming from Akshardham towards Sarai Kale Khan to further go through Barapullah, traffic coming from Ashram side towards Akshardham to further go through Pushta road, Geeta colony flyover," said a senior police officer.

Motorists coming from Ashram side are also being advised to take DND, Mayur Vihar, Noida Link road, Akshardham, Pushta road. No vehicle is being allowed towards ITO from Nizamuddin.

Traffic is likely to remain heavy around Sarai Kale Khan which is being regulated. Minto road was also closed due to water logging for some time.
