Rain disrupts life in many parts of Gurugram


Gurugram, Jul 22 (IANS): Several roads and low lying areas of Gurugram turned into pool after medium rain in the past 48 hours.

Water logging on streets were reported from several places, like South City, MG Road, Atul Kataria Chowk, Iffco Chowk, city bus stand, Shivaji Nagar, DLF phase 1, sector 4/7, sector 27, 28, 29, 42, Galleria market, MCG office and Narsinghpur.

At several places roads caved. The traffic department put up barricades and signage to prevent accidents.

Traffic movement on low lying roads, including the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway at Narsingpur and near Kherikidhaula, were affected. As many as 10 cars broke down at sector 4/7 chowk due to water logging.

District Magistrate Amit Khatri said 38 mm rain was recorded in Farrukh Nagar Tahsil, 25 mm in Maneser, 25 mm in Sohna, 22 mm in Gurugram tahsil, 19 mm in Wazirabad and 17 mm in Pataudi.
