Another Odisha MLA tests positive for COVID-19


Bhubaneswar, Jul 24 (IANS): Ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLA Srikant Sahu has tested positive for COVID-19, the fourth legislator in Odisha to be infected with coronavirus, a Health department official said on Friday.

Sahu, the BJD MLA from Polsara constituency and his wife have contracted the infection and both are at the minister's official quarter in the state capital.

Contact tracing of the people who have come in contact of the lawmaker has already started.

Earlier, Remuna MLA Sudhansu Sekhar Parida, Nilgiri MLA Sukanta Kumar Nayak and Salipur MLA Prasant Behera had tested positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Odisha Assembly has been shut till July 31 as five employees test positive for COVID-19.
