Mangaluru, Jul 26: A group of assailants attempted to murder a youth hours after he allegedly received death threats. The incident took place on Sunday July 26 at Melangadi in Ullal near here.

The victim, identified as Rifayeez (25), was outside his home when the assailants attacked him, hitting him on the chest and ears. Rifayeez had filed a complaint just a few hours before the attack took place.

The accused have been identified as Ullal residents Jaldi Irfan and Zulwan. They had allegedly threatened Rifayeez that if the complaint was not withdrawn he would have to face dire consequences. They had also reportedly claimed that the police would never be able to catch them.

Injured Rifayeez is being treated in a private hospital in Thokkottu.

In an earlier incident on Saturday July 25, Kadapur resident Shameer, Arfan and 6 others had allegedly threatened to kill Rifayeez along with his family members. They had allegedly threatened that he would be killed the same way that gangster Target Ilyas had been killed in his home.

Rifayeez was then dragged to a car nearby and was shown swords and other weapons. After this, Rifayeez had filed a complaint and requested police protection, but within hours of filing the complaint he was attacked.

Earlier too, Dawood and Shameer gang had allegedly barged into Rifayeez's house and attacked him and his family, it is alleged.

Dude, are you not aware of the genocide and ethnic cleansing of Pundits, from the Kashmir valley ??? Likewise Assam has been overrun by Bangladeshi !!! This tragic scenario is evident in many states, Netas are responsible for the creation of such vote banks zones !! Being a Mumbaikar, i am acutely aware of the patronage to the Dons, being extended by political parties, who were both ruling in Maharashtra and Karnataka state !!!

No arguments or trails needed. Most funny thing is that all the crimes backed by the POLITICIANS as the same people will help them when the elections held.

Parents have too many children and they can’t afford to give them proper education. End result is progress with bad habits and end up on the streets and become a nuisance to the society or become a criminal.

Yes, I agree with you. It's too late now. If the two-child policy was implemented b4 1950, India would have been under better leadership now.

North Kerala is a communal sensitive region, lawlessness prevails in this volatile district... The spillover has effected Ullal and even the adjoining region of Dakshin Kannada !!!! The administration must be alert and control criminals, from creating unrest in the border areas of Karnataka...
