Congress not to protest at Raj Bhawan in Rajasthan on Monday

Jaipur, Jul 27 (IANS): Changing the last minute strategy of protests under 'Save Democracy-Save Constitution' campaign in Rajasthan, state Congress PCC Chief Govind Singh Dotasara on Sunday announced that the party shall not be protesting outside Raj Bhawan in the state on Monday as proposed earlier, but the nationwide protest shall continue as per the earlier plan.

In his tweet, Dotasara said, "Tomorrow, under the Save Democracy-Save Constitution campaign, Congressmen will stage protests in front of the Raj Bhawans in all the states of the country, but we will not do anything like this in #Rajasthan. We have sent a revised Cabinet note to the Governor and hope that he will approve the calling of the session soon," he said in his tweet.

The Congress government in Rajasthan has requested the Governor to allow a special assembly session, however the Governor has not yet permitted for the same.

On Saturday late night, the Congress government sent a revised note to the Governor seeking permission to call a special assembly session on July 31 to discuss corona situation but not the floor test as the reason to call the session.

Meanwhile, Governor Kalraj Mishra met chief secretary Rajeev Swaroop and DGP Bhupendra Singh in which the duo apprised him of the security measures being taken by the administration in view of protest which was planned in front of Governor's House on Monday.

BJP state president Satish Poonia on the 'Speak up for Democracy' campaign of the Congress said how can a party wash away its old sins by launching this campaign when it itself dissolved elected governments 91 times by invoking Article 356 in the country.

It is very clear that BJP and the Governor wants the trust vote but Congress does not. Congress sent a request for calling the assembly without mentioning the trust vote agenda. Now the Governor is asking the speaker if he wants a trust vote.

Gehlot has rightly said that the BJP has become a shameless party with no Principles or Ethics. While the country is grappling with a serious Pandemic, the central Govt is busy destabilisin opposition ruled state govts with inducements and threats of action by the central enforcement agencies to Intimidate and Harass Political Opponents.

This is the Ugly face of Modi's Maan Ki Baat and his innocent pretentions behind TV cameras in his repeated address to the nation.

No doubt he has not addressed a Single Press Conference in the last six years so that he need not be confronted with such glaring attempts to drail Democracy in our country and all issues concerning the country and its people. There is no Doubt that Modi himself is involved in all these toppling games and making a mockery of Democracy by subverting the will of the people. For the PM of a Great country like ours to remain a Mute Spectator to this street level politics is a Shameful.
The Governors have lowered the image of their office by behaving like caged parrots of the ruling party.
All those in the BJP who have a Conscience and Love for our country should Resign from the BJP to save our country.
