489 new cases take J&K's Covid tally to 18,879


Srinagar, Jul 29 (IANS): Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday reported 489 new Covid-19 cases, taking the Union Territorys coronavirus tally to 18,879, while 12 persons succumbed to the dreaded virus in the last 24 hours. So far, 333 people in the UT have fallen prey to the deadly disease.

A statement issued by the Information and Public Relations department said that of the 489 new cases reported on Tuesday, 134 are from Jammu division and 355 are from Kashmir division. Of the 18,879 cases detected so far, 10,885 people have recovered completely.

The number of active cases in J&K is 7,661 now, out of which 1,877 are in Jammu division and 5,784 are in Kashmir division.
