J'khand Covid death toll rises to 103 with four new fatalities


Ranchi, Jul 30 (IANS): Jharkhand recorded four more COVID-19 fatalities on Thursday, pushing the death toll to 103, while the tally climbed to 10,195 with 300 new cases, health officials said.

Of the total infections, the number of active cases in the state is 6,134 while 4,061 people have been discharged from health facilities following recovery.

The four Covid patients who have succumbed to the virus were undergoing treatment at Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS).

In the last 24 hours, Covid cases were detected across 19 districts of the state. The state reported nine deaths during the same period.

The last 24 hours also saw 77 people recovering and being discharged from various dedicated COVID-19 facilities in the state including 16 in Hazaribagh, 15 in Palamu and 13 in Koderma.

Further, nine patients from Ranchi, seven from East Singhbhum, six from Bokaro, four from Saraikela, three each from Dumka and Lohardaga districts and one from Garhwa were discharged after recovery.

The recovery rate of COVID-19 patients has plummeted further to 41.04 per cent in the state.

The data showed that the number of travellers under surveillance and asymptomatic is 5,596 while the number of people who have completed 28 days of compulsory observation stood at 4,333.

The number of people in facility quarantine was at 5,892.
