AIFF seeks further clarifications from prospective I-League clubs

Kolkata, July 31 (IANS): The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has sought further clarifications from the three prospective I-League clubs by August 5, saying that a final decision would be taken after further evaluating the documents.

New Delhi club Sudeva FC, Shillong's Ryntih SC and Visakhapatnam-based Sreenidhi FC had submitted a bid after the AIFF invited interested parties to fill the spot left vacant by Mohun Bagan who have merged with Indian Super League (ISL) champions ATK.

"Members of the All India Football Federation and representatives of Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) met over a video conference wherein the latter submitted their report after evaluation of submitted bids by prospective clubs -- Sudeva FC (Delhi), Sreenidhi FC (Visakhapatnam), and Ryntih SC (Shillong) -- for participation in the I-league 2020-21," AIFF said in a statement.

"After scrutinising the submitted documents and presentations from the three respective bidders, the Committee, after consultation with PwC sought further clarifications from the bidders by August 5, 2020. A final decision would be taken thereafter after further evaluating the documents," the statement further said.

According to sources, Sudeva FC are the front-runners to win the bid. The I-League is expected to take place in West Bengal due to the COVID-19 pandemic although no decision on the same has been taken yet.
