Kohli, Rohit lead cricket fraternity's Eid wishes for fans


New Delhi, Aug 1 (IANS): The Indian cricket fraternity on Saturday extended their wishes on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid) on their respective social media handles. The players are all currently at their homes and training in their own capacity as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to put a freeze on the cricket calendar in India.

"Wishing a very joyous Eid Al Adha to those celebrating! Let's celebrate this day by spreading love and happiness. #EidMubarak," tweeted Indian captain Virat Kohli.

India's Test vice captain Ajinkya Rahane tweeted: "Wishing you all a very happy and prosperous Eid!#EidAlAdha"

Limited-overs vice captain Rohit Sharma said: "Eid Mubarak!! Best wishes for a joyful #EidAlAdha to all celebrating. Have a good one."

"#EidMubarak! Here's wishing everyone a happy and joyous #EidAlAdha," said coach Ravi Shastri.

"May Allah give you all the prosperity and success. May Allah bless you with wealth and happiness and give you a healthy life. Eid al-Adha Mubarak.#EId," said fast bowler Mohammed Shami.

Test opener Mayank Agarwal said: "Eid Mubarak! Wishing you love, warmth, and happiness in life!"

Former fast bowler Irfan Pathan tweeted a photo of him with his brother and fellow cricketer Yusuf and their father. "May we all sacrifice our ego this Eid.sabhi ko pathan family ke taraf Eid Mubarak #EidMubarak," he said.
