Vishal Dadlani on composer Mithoon: His music washes a singer clean of pretence

Mumbai, Aug 3 (IANS): Singer-musician Vishal Dadlani says the title track of the film, Khuda Haafiz, has great honesty and depth.

The title track of the film, starring Vidyut Jamwal and Shivaleeka Oberoi, was released on Monday. The song evokes sentiments of hope and the power of love, and is a blend of love, melancholy and longing.

With music composed, arranged and created by Mithoon; the track is sung by Vishal Dadlani and the lyrics are penned by Sayeed Quadri.

"Having had just a few conversations with Mithoon before this, I knew his heart is real. When I sang for him, I realised that every song he does carries that honesty and depth. His music washes any singer clean of pretence and hype, and helps one to find an almost-forgotten purity," Dadlani said.

The romantic action thriller "Khuda Haafiz" is inspired by a true story, and has been directed and written by Faruk Kabir.

"The title track conveys the hope that love will find a way to overcome any problem. Sayeed Quadri's lyrics and Mithoon's music depict this sentiment in the truest sense," said producer Abhishek Pathak.

"Khuda Haafiz" is the story of a young, recently-wedded couple from India, Sameer (Vidyut) and Nargis (Shivaleeka), who decide to work overseas in search of better career opportunities. Under mysterious circumstances, Nargis goes missing in the foreign land and the film shows Sameer's attempt to find his wife. It will release on August 14, on Disney+ Hotstar VIP.
