Dubai, Aug 6: Dubai will soon be allowing weddings along with other events and banquet parties.

On August 3, the Dubai government issued guidelines, said to the emirate's new normal, laid down the details of the safety protocols and how a wedding would look like.

The major concern of seating arrangements would require social distancing at all times. Tables must be at least two metres apart with a maximum of four guests on a table if from different groups, while a maximum of ten if from the same group. Planners are encouraged to place physical dividers between tables. Wedding venue capacity will be set according to the scale of set-up.

Greeting the bride and groom must be done from a distance and refrain from all physical proximity, unlike the previous norm of hugs, kisses and handshakes. There would be no dance floors at the parties.

For food, self-service would be prohibited, and waiters must be stationed to serve the food. All the giveaway and gifts must be sanitized. External supplies of flowers, chocolates and beverages must undergo quality control before handing them over. Cleanliness must be thoroughly maintained throughout the venue.

For event and live concerts:

All the attendees are expected to maintain social distancing at all times while the tickets for events and live concerts would be limited.

Indoor events and exhibitions would have limited capacity set with four-metre distance between attendees. Online sale of tickets recommended over box office options.

For concerts, there must be two vacant seats between attendees including the VIP area. Guests must be compulsorily wearing masks throughout the show, while performers can remove their masks only if they maintain four metre distance from the audience.

Standing concerts must be guided by floor markings while the entry and exit of guests would be one group at a time to avoid overcrowding.
