Puttur: Light Showers at Upinangady Provide Relief from Heat

Puttur, Mar 16: Although the other areas across the taluk have been reeling under the scorching sun, Uppinangady, a town in the taluk, witnessed sudden rain, coupled with heavy winds at 3.55 pm on Tuesday March 16.
Unexpected and sporadic rains once in a way have been a regular phenomenon in the district the during summer months. The people, who were on a visit to Uppinangady from neighbouring villages for different purposes, were surprised to witness rain that cooled the temperatures and buoyed their spirits. The locality is surrounded by lush greenery consisting of areca, palm and rubber plantations. It also is located in close proximity to the Western Ghats.
