Mangalore, Mar 17:
In order to create a quality youth resource cell and to bring out youth talents, Samanvaya Mangalore and Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) of Mangalore Diocese jointly organized a two-day residential workshop on ‘Capacity Building of Resource Persons’ at Pastoral Institute, Bajjodi, recently.

ICYM director Fr Anil D’Souza, having inaugurating the workshop, called upon the youth to work hard and put in regular efforts to become quality resource persons.

Fr Ronald Coutinho, director of Samanvaya, explained the purpose and objectives of the workshop.

Sr Mabel D’Souza, women co-ordinator of Samanvaya, and HRD specialist and national trainer Fr Ronald Coutinho were the resource guides of the workshop.

They gave inputs on the method of collection of resource materials, need of communication skills for effective delivery of the contents, requirements of a good resource person, different methods used in training, and the like through PowerPoint presentations.

The participants presented their skills and as resource persons exhibited their knowledge of leadership, role of the youth in parish and society, youth problems, and remedies.  The video recording and replay of presentations enabled the critical evaluation of each participant.

ICYM women co-ordinator Sr Michel was present on the dais.

The president of ICYM Leo Pereira welcomed the gathering. Secretary Reena D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks while Rayan Patrick Miranda compered the programme.

Youth leaders from ten parishes participated in this programme.
