Mangaluru: Annual feast of St Lawrence Bondel Shrine held in grandeur

Mangaluru, Aug 10: The annual feast of St Lawrence Church, Bondel was celebrated with grandeur and devotion on Monday, August 10. Msgr Maxim Lawrence Noronha, vicar general of Mangalore diocese was the main celebrant. The purpose of the feast was, 'Lord save us from this Covid-19 pandemic.'

Msgr Maxim Lawrence Noronha began the celebration saying, "We have gathered here not only to celebrate the feast but also to pray for the people suffering due to COVID-19. Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza parish priest, Fr Clifford Pinto, Fr Rupesh Tauro and other various priests concelebrated the Mass.

On the occasion of the annual feast, a family prayer book was released by Msgr Maxim Lawrence Noronha, Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza parish priest, Fr Clifford Pinto, Fr Rupesh Tauro, Reginald D’Souza vice president, Pastoral Council, Steven Noronha secretary, Prakash Pinto convener for the feast and Wilfred Alvares, editor and other dignities accompanied the celebration.

During the feast, people of all religions visited the shrine and displayed religious unity.
