Udupi: Amar Singh Visits Kaup, Says He Won’t Join Any Party

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Mar 17: Expelled Samajwadi Party general secretary and MP, Amar Singh, has asserted that he would not consider the option joining any other party, although he was thrown out of the Samajwadi Party by his mentor and long-time friend, Mulayam Singh Yadav. “I will put forth efforts continuously for the welfare of my followers and the backward classes,” he clarified.

Amar Singh was in Kaup, on a visit to the home of Kaup Vasudev Shetty, a contractor. He hastened to add that it would be wrong on the part of the media to speculate that he has been favourably considering the option of joining the Congress party, just because he has cordial relationship with Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, and Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh. He explained that he is in favour of the Women’s Reservation Bill, terming the opponents of the bill as the opponents of the women.

“Samajwadi Party was nurtured and strengthened by its workers. Now, the party supremo, Mulayam Singh Yadav, having been misguided by the advice of his relatives, is trying to project it as a party of leaders. The people will give a fitting reply for this attitude in future,” he felt. He said he has liked some of the delicacies of the coastal belt like Neeru Dose, Moode, Pundi etc.

On Tuesday, both Amar Singh and MP, cine actress, Jaya Prada, visited Kollur Goddess Mookambika Temple, where they took part in Chandika Yaga and some other religious rituals.
