Bangalore: Shobha Fails to Find Place in New BJP Committee

Daijworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Mar 18: In the new team announced by the BJP national president, Nitin Gadkari, Anant Kumar has retained his place as a general secretary of the party for the third time in a row.

Chief Minister, B S Yeddyurappa, MP, D V Sadanand Gowda, and home minister, V S Acharya, have got the posts of permanent invitees of the national executive of the party. Ministers, Suresh Kumar, Govind Karjol and party leader, Dr Vaman Acharya, will be special invitees.

Yeddyurappa had been trying hard to accommodate Shobha in the national executive of the party, to partly compensate for the loss of face he suffered, after his opponents forced him to drop her from the ministry. It is clear that anti Shobha lobby succeeded in pressurizing the party high command not to consider her for a national level post. This loss is being analyzed as a setback for the Chief Minister.

Although Yeddyurappa has kept a post of the state general secretary of the party unfilled, he will find it hard to accommodate Shobha there, as the lobby that worked against her at the national level, is determined to keep her off party posts.
